Privacy policy
Effective 6 November 2026 for the Topo BiH app (Android).
Topo BiH is built to know as little about you as possible. The app has no user accounts, shows no ads, uses no analytics or tracking and has no server of its own. The author receives no data about you unless you send an e-mail yourself.
What stays on your phone
- Routes, notes and route names you draw or import.
- Settings: chosen base map, TK 25 opacity, routing profile and similar.
- Screen recordings you make, saved to Movies/Topo BiH.
- GPX files you export, saved where you choose.
This data does not leave your phone unless you share or export it. If Android backup is turned on, Android may store routes and settings in your Google account; you control this in your phone's settings.
Location
The app asks for location permission only to show where you are on the map when you tap the location button. Your location is used on the phone only and is not sent to anyone.
Services the app connects to
To show maps, search places and plan routes, the app connects to these services. Each of them sees your IP address and the data in the request, under its own privacy policy:
- Google Earth (earth.usercontent.google.com): scanned TK 25 sheets for the part of the map you view.
- Mapbox (api.mapbox.com): Mapbox base maps and, when a Mapbox base map is selected, current-map search (the text you type).
- OpenStreetMap (tile.openstreetmap.org, nominatim.openstreetmap.org): the OpenStreetMap base map and current-map search (the text you type).
- OpenTopoMap (tile.opentopomap.org): the OpenTopoMap base map.
- BRouter (brouter.de): when you draw a route along paths, the coordinates of the route points and the chosen profile.
TK 25 search works without the internet and sends nothing.
Support and bug reports
When you choose "Prijavi grešku" (report a bug) in Settings, your e-mail app opens with a prepared message containing the app version, Android version and phone model. It is sent only if you send it. The author uses it only to reply and fix the problem.
Children
The app is not aimed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address with a new date.
